Moffitt provided a full turn-key ventilation solution for A. Finkl & Sons’ aluminum melt shop in Chicago, IL. Moffitt utilized a combination of natural ventilation and powered ventilation to cool the facility.
Moffitt supplied, manufactured, and installed 720' of MoffittVent™ natural ventilators. In addition, utilizing the natural ventilation the MoffittVent removes warm air from the work floor without the use of electricity. This method works particularly well in a high heat environment like an aluminum melt shop.
A Hooded Roof Fan was also installed. Therefore, this fan supplies fresh air into a critical work area within the building. By focusing the cool air directly where workers are present, the plant now avoids wasting energy by cooling areas where it’s not needed.
