Make-Up Air (MUA) with the Moffitt PressureStream

It is that time of the year again. The time when the thermometer reaches the top and you start to sweat just thinking about going outside. It is also when your building temperature rises well above the ambient temperature. Not only does this make your plant uncomfortable, but it also makes it hard for your workers to perform physically and mentally. Exhausting this stifling air through a natural ventilator or a roof vent is important, but replacing the air with cool, fresh air is vital. That is why introducing fresh make-up air can make such a dramatic difference in your facility.

Moffitt PressureStream MUA

PressureStream Make-Up Air (MUA) unit.

Make-up air (MUA) is necessary for tempering the outside air, prevent depressurization, and improving the safety and comfort of the inhabitants inside. Hot stagnant air builds-up in areas where there is no way for it to exhaust. That is why a make-up air unit like the Moffitt PressureStream promotes airflow and introduces fresh make-up air where it is needed most. The Moffitt team custom-designs these powered exhaust fans meet the airflow requirements of your facility and improve airflow throughout the building.

A PressureStream is a powered ventilation system and can provide either air intake or exhaust. Unlike a pedestal fan these units do not recycle the stagnant air throughout the building. Instead, they introduce fresh intake air from the outside. It can be installed on the wall to blow air directly inward, or on the roof top with a powered fan duct directing the air downward. It can even be used to help bring positive pressure into the building. The low-profile design causes minimal wind-load on the building. The standard PressureStream uses a 3 HP, 1160 RPM motor capable of moving 20,000 CFM. A litany of other motors, sizes, and options are also available.

DualStream Make-Up Air

In situations where more power is required, Moffitt also offers the DualStream powered ventilator system. This solution utilizes two fans instead of just one. The dual fans in the DualStream efficiently pushes more make-up air making it much cooler. You can install The DualStream units onto the walls to introduce cooler make-up air closer to the floor. This produces a bigger, direct effect on the workers on the floor. The Moffitt DualStream can move twice as much air at 40,000 CFM. The DualStream is moves twice as much air as the PressureStream making it a smart choice for large buildings or buildings with spaces in dire need of fresh intake air. Plus, if one fan breaks, the DualStream has a backup. This extra fan picks up some of the slack while the team repairs the other unit.

QuadStream MUA

If even more make-up air is required Moffitt also offers the QuadStream. The QuadStream has four PressureStream powered ventilation units, stacked two wide and two tall. With all four of these fans the QuadStream is capable of 80,000 CFM. The QuadStream allows for maximum cool make-up air distribution. This is beneficial because it allows for not only the best make-up air input but also quadruples the efficiency in exhausting the hot stagnant air and or humidity out of your building. The QuadStream turns the air in the building over more frequently, keeping the space cooler and more comfortable. The QuadStream is ideal for any facility in need of significant make-up air.
